Religious history tells us that Muslims and Christians are descendants of one Father, Abraham. Hence, it is expected of them to coexist in harmony despite their different theologies, ideologies or interests.

In the spirit of religious tolerance, Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell, SVD and Parish Priest of Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments-Accra paid a courtesy visit to Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Chief Imam of Ghana at his residence in Fadama, Accra.

The visit is reciprocal to the earlier visit of the Chief Imam to the Christ the King Parish, Cantonments- Accra in April 2019, to join worshipers in the Church to pray and as part of activities to mark his 100th birthday. This historic event was captured and wildly spoken about on both local and international media.

As part of the visit, Fr. Andrew Campbell, SVD donated 50 bags of 25 kg rice to the Chief Imam to support the feeding of the poor and the marginalized who constantly visit Sheik Osmanu’s house in the neighbourhood of Fadama, a suburb of Accra.
